Description
This BSL playtime words sign – Welsh language version – can be enjoyed by all children during playtime and break times in Welsh speaking environments, or where children are learning the Welsh language. It is designed to encourage children to include and interact with their deaf and hearing classmates who use signs in their communication.
It is beautifully illustrated with easy-to-understand visual and written instructions provided by the leading BSL resource provider in the UK, LET’S SIGN. Working with LET’S SIGN ensures our BSL signs are as clear and accurate as possible.
The sign includes a QR code which (when scanned with your phone, tablet or other device) links to a YouTube video that demonstrates the sign for each of the words in turn.
The sign depicts a range of signed words that help children include each other in games and other group activities. Perfect for free-play periods, break times and lunchtimes.
The written instructions are all provided in Welsh (with translation assistance from Katy Smith).
The video demonstrations of each sign have been recorded especially for us by the Royal Association for Deaf People (RAD), and feature an experienced BSL Presenter.
Whole school involvement not only benefits deaf children – sign language is a valuable tool for children with a wide range of additional speech and language needs. Signing is also proving to be a valuable learning tool for children with no additional needs and most importantly, it helps to ensure a fully inclusive environment.
The sign can be customised with a background colour and uniform colour to suit your school. You can also add your school’s logo to the top right corner.
