Description
This BSL Numbers 1 to 10 sign (Set B) demonstrates the British Sign Language two-handed signs for numbers 1 to 10. Perfect for Early Years pupils in the first stages of learning BSL.
BSL Numbers are subject to regional variation. We have produced signage for the two most commonly used versions for BSL Numbers 1 to 10 using two hands for numbers 6 to10 which is often preferred for using with young children. These can all be signed with just the dominant hand (right hand as drawn) as in the adult BSL community.
We also offer a sign for Set A, available here.
In Set B, the numbers 5 to 6 are signed with the dominant hand starting from the thumb and proceeding towards the little finger.
The illustrations have been created by our partner, and the leading BSL resource provider in the UK, LET’S SIGN. Working with LET’S SIGN ensures our BSL signs are as clear and accurate as possible.
Whole school involvement in sign language doesn’t just benefit deaf children – it is a valuable teaching strategy for children with a wide range of additional speech and language needs. Signing is also proving to be a valuable learning tool for children with no additional needs. Most importantly, it helps to ensure a fully inclusive environment.
The sign can be customised with a background colour and uniform colour to suit your school. You can also add your school’s logo to the top right corner.
Made from 5mm thick foamex, a rigid plastic. Foamex is easily drilled with a drill driver, or we will pre-drill holes for fixing to your wall. Just choose the relevant option above.
